It began with a mother: Ruth.
And the desire to keep her memory alive through solidarity.
Led by four brothers and one sister, the Fondation Ruth project honours their mother, who was born in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and passed away at the Baptist Hospital in Ferkessédougou, Côte d’Ivoire. Her memory inspires a commitment to supporting women and children in distress in both countries.
The Foundation will be based in Ferkessédougou, linking Ouagadougou, Ruth’s birthplace, with the city where she passed away. Our ambition is to offer a dignified welcome, help protect the most vulnerable and support pathways to independence, working with local organisations.
